Information Minister congratulates new BJA board

The Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi reiterated unwavering support to the press and journalists to fulfill their duties freely, objectively and responsibly.

In a statement today, he hailed democratic strides as part of the wide-ranging development march, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

 He congratulated the new Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) board, chaired by Al Ayam Editor-in-chief, Isa Al Shaiji, who were elected unopposed, hailing their pivotal role in promoting the sector of the press and media.

He underlined the duties of the newly-elected board to support responsible press freedom, promote journalists’ gains and professional development and foster the spirit of tolerance, social cohesion and keenness on national interests.

Al Romaihi reiterated the ministry’s commitment to cooperating with the association to bolster responsible press rights and liberties, promote national cadres and contribute to enhancing the national media to maintain the country’s stability, security and development strides within the pioneering reform project, led by HM the King.
