Al-Hamar: the "Journalists' Housing" project masterplan at the end of 2021

Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, Minister of Housing, said that the housing project for journalists is receiving the attention of the Ministry of Housing, as it is one of the gains in the comprehensive development process of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, noting that the concerned authorities are expected to complete the procedures for approving the masterplan of the project by the end of this year.

The minister explained that it is planned for this project to be implemented in several phases, whereas the ministry will start building 50 housing units in the first phase after approving the final plans.

 Engineer Al-Hamar said that the ministry, since the issuance of the royal directive to establish the journalists housing, has been coordinating with the relevant service authorities, with the aim of implementing the project, noting that the project area has been identified in the Horat Sanad area, and as soon as the planning and design procedures are completed, the ministry will start implementation.
 
 

This came during a meeting Eng. Basem Al-Hamar held with the Chairman of the Bahraini Journalists Association, Mr. Isa Al-Shaiji, and members of the Society's Board of Directors, at his office in the Ministry of Housing.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Housing congratulated the new board of directors of the Journalists Association, wishing them continued success during their current session, and praised the national role played by the Bahraini press to highlight the gains that have been achieved and are still in the prosperous era of His Majesty the King, as well as the importance of the press in playing the role of effective communication between ministries, government institutions and the private sector with citizens.

For his part, BJA Chairman noted the remarkable role played by the Ministry of Housing, and the achievements and gains made by the esteemed government at the housing level during the past years.

Al-Shaiji stressed that the association is fully prepared to cooperate with the Ministry of Housing in general, especially with regard to the implementation of the journalists' project, which would enhance the social stability of local press affiliates.
